The Prospects swept their weekend series with Calgary despite missing six players who are away at Tournament 12 in Toronto.

On Saturday they won their opener 12-7, battling back from an early 5-0 hole.  Luke Muise went the distance on the mound throwing his second consecutive complete game, giving up 7 runs (6 earned) on 10 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4.  Tyler Mecir had an oustanding game going 4-4 with 2 doubles, a triple and an RBI.  Tate Yuzda also led the way offensively going 3-4 with a double and 2 RBI.  Evan Loranger had a multi-hit game and drove in a run.  Tanner Karpinski, Jamie Whynot, and Ryan Van Snick also collected hits.

In the second game of the doubleheader the Prospects won 4-2.  Zach Thibault earned the win on the mound, pitching 5 solid innings.  He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits, walked 2 and struck out 3.  Harvey, Foo, Yuzda, and Karpinski all collected hits in the game.  Jake Fischer was 0-3 but had a pair of RBI.

Game 3 saw the Prospects win 8-6.  Tanner Karpinski had to pitch around some shaky defense, throwing 6 solid innings.  He gave up 5 runs, only 3 earned, on 6 hits and 3 walks, striking out 7.  Ryan Bartley pitched the final inning giving up 1 run.  The offense was led by Tate Yuzda and Luke Muise who both were 2-2 with a walk and an RBI.  Harvey, Thibault, Mecir, and Van Snick all had hits.

In the finale the Prospects won 13-0.  Taran Oulton twirled a complete game, five-inning shutout, giving up 2 hits, walking 3, and striking out 6.  The offense was led by Jamie Whynot (2-2, 2B, 2 RBI) Tate Yuzda (1-2, 2B, 3 RBI) and Zach Thibault (2-3, 2B, 3B, 2 RBI).  Jake Fischer and Adam Foo had a big double each that kickstarted the offence while Tyler Mecir, Ryan Van Snick, and Logan Harvey all chipped in with hits.


The Prospects next action is against St. FX Academy on Wednesday in St. Albert.
