Prospects Academy go 1-2-1 on the weekend. Prospects lost the first game and tied the second game against the Thompson River University Wolfpack by scores of 6-3 and 2-2. Sunday saw the Academy lose the first game 5-3 to Thompson River University and beat the Okotoks Academy 7-6.

Game 1 saw a couple of errors prove costly against TRU. Tanner Karpinski took the loss going 5 2/3 giving up 5 runs on 4 hits with 4 BB and a K. Jaimie Whynot followed by giving up 1 run on 2 hits through 1 1/3 innings. Connor Burns and Kobe Hyland led the way offensively, each having 2 hits. Thibault, Hazlett, Muise, Williams, and Bartley all chipped in with a hit a piece.

Game 2 ended in a tie vs. the tough TRU Wolfpack. The Academy was able to score 2 runs on only 4 hits. Harvey, Thibault, Williams, and Barrett combined for the 4 hits. On the mound Luke Muise battled for the tie going the complete game giving up 3 hits, 1 earned run with 3 BB and 3 K's.

Game 3 the offense was held to only 4 hits again in the loss to TRU. Josh Williams had a 2 hit day with Barrett and Muise adding a hit each. Wark got the loss going 5 giving up 7 hits, 3 runs and had a BB and 2 K's. Taran Oulton came on in relief giving up 2 runs in 2 with 2 BB and 2 K's.

In the final game the Prospects gave up the lead in the 6th only to take it right back in the 7th for the win over the Okotoks Dawgs Academy. Jake Lanferman got the win going 1 1/3 giving up zero runs on 3 hits. He also went 3-4 at the plate and had a huge 2 strike triple that drove in 2 to tie up the game. Kobe Hyland also added 2 hits while, Loranger, Thibault, Muise, Barret, and Karpinski all contributed with a hit. Connor Burns got the start going 5 strong innings giving up 3 runs on 5 hits with a BB and 2 K's. 


On a side note the Jr. Prospects baseball club started their fall schedule this weekend with 3 big wins over the Confed Cubs and FX Academy. The Jr's won thier first game over the Confed Cubs by a score of 21-13. Games 2 and 3 saw the Jr. Prospects beat the FX Academy by scores of 14-7 and 15-4.


Prospects Academy will take on FX on Tuesday September 17th at Legion Field at 6:00pm
