Prospects Split on Day 1 in Kelowna
The Prospects split their Saturday doubleheader in Kelowna. They won game 1 over the Okanagan A's 3-1 but lost to Thompson Rivers University 4-1.
In their win over Okanagan, Taran Oulton was strong on the bump tossing 6 innings to earn the victory. He gave up 1 run on 2 hits and 4 walks while striking out 6. Connor Burns earned the save throwing a scoreless 7th. The offence was led by Burns who was 2-3 with a double. Jeremie Arseneau, Logan Harvey, and Jaret Semeniuk all had hits while Harvey and Aidan Huggins each collected an RBI.
In the loss to TRU the Academy couldn't muster much offensively. They could only collect 2 hits: an RBI single from Huggins and a double from Erik Sabrowski. Kurt Meeberg took the loss in his 5 innings of work (4 runs, 3 earned, 3 walks, 3 strike outs.) Luke Roberts was very solid out of the pen throwing 2 scoreless.
The Academy is back in action tomorrow with games against the Okanagan A's and Okanagan College.
