Prospects open season 2 - 1 at Vauxhall

Game 1: The Prospects Academy started the season vs. the Vauxhall Jets. The game opened up on a good note as in his first at bat, Mitchell Beaudreau (1/3, HR, K) led of the game off with a homerun. After that the offence couldn't really get anything going until the 5th inning when they added 5 runs on hits by Kyle Radke (1/2, 2rbi's, SB, BB), Travis Steinke (1/3, rbi), Matt Biollo (1/3, 2rbi's), and David Dewolfe (1/2). On the mound Brad Michaleski got the start going 2 1/3 innings allowing 8 runs, 8 hits, 3 earned, 1 BB, 3K. Mat Craine and Kyle Wannamaker finished the game in relief. The Academy committed 6 errors in the 16-6 loss.

Game 2: The Prospects won the second game of the DH by a score of 10-7 vs. the Jets. Andrew Mirasty started going 3 innings, giving up 5 runs, 5 hits, 4 earned, and 2 K's. Emerson Savage picked up the win going 2 2/3 with 5 BB, 2 K's, and allowing 2 runs. Ethan Elias got the save going 1 1/3 with 4 k's. Kyle Radke (2/4, HR, 2rbi's, SB) got the offence started in the first with a 2 run homerun in the first. Mitchell Beaudreau (2/5, 2rbi's, 1 run, SB, K), Ryan Johnson (2/4, 2B, rbi, run, K), Dennis Millar (2/4, 2B, rbi, run, K) and Kevin Czarnecki (2/4, 2B, K) all had multi hit games. Matt Biollo, Travis Steinke, and Ethan Elias all contributed with hits as the Academy picked up their first win of the 2010 season.

Game 3: The final game of the weekend saw a thriller through 9 innings as the Prospects picked up their second win of the season by a score of 9-8. With 2 out and the tying run at 3rd base Brad Michaleski made a great bare handed play to end the game. Ryan Johnson had a solid start going 3 innings allowing 3 runs, 2 earned, 4 K's, 2 BB, on 3 hits. Keegan Hucul followed with 4 strong innings earning the win and had 6 K's, 1 BB, while giving up 2 runs on 3 hits. Ethan Elias earned his 2nd save of the weekend following Andrew Minchuk. The offense was led by Brad Michaleski (2/5, 2 HR, 4rbi's) who had 2 homeruns in Sunday's game. David Dewolfe (2/5, 2 runs, K) and Padon Brenholen (2/4, BB) also collected a couple of hits. Kevin Czarnecki, Matt Biollo, and Travis Steinke all chipped in with hits as the Prospects went on to finish the weekend 2 wins and a loss.

The Prospects next action will be at the Best of the West Tournament in Kamloops, BC on April 1st - 4th.
