Prospects Open Atlanta Trip With Win Over Prestigious East Cobb Astros
The Prospects opened their Atlanta trip with a convincing 9-4 win over the East Cobb Astros. The Astros have won fourteen of the past sixteen national championships, and last night's Prospects victory was the first in program history against the legendary club.
Third year Prospect Connor Burns, in perhaps his last start for the Academy, went the distance earning the complete game victory. He gave up 4 runs on 3 hits, 2 walks, while striking out 6. Matt Quartel led the way offensively going 2-4 with a 2B and 2 RBI. Owen Bessette was 2-4 with a HR and RBI. Aidan Huggins also had a strong day going 2-4 with a 2B. Erik Sabrowski was 1-3 with 2 RBI. Jeremie Arseneau and Jake Fischer also had hits to round out the offense. Tauren Langley was 0-1 with 2 walks.
The Academy take on the East Cobb Astros again tonight at 7 p.m.
