Prospects Lose to East Cobb Astros in Playoff Round to End Season
The Prospects lost in the playoff round of the North Atlanta Open to the East Cobb Astros 7-1. The game was closer than the score indicated, as it was 4-1 until the seventh inning and the Academy stranded a number of baserunners over the course of the game.
Aidan Huggins went 6.1 innings in his start giving up 6 runs (3 earned) on 10 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 5. Ross Supruniuk closed things out on the mound going 0.2 innings giving up 1 run. Matt Quartel led the way offensively going 1-1 with 3 walks. Erik Sabrowski was 1-3 with an RBI. Connor Burns, Jacob Melville, Jaret Semeniuk, and Owen Bessette all had hits.
The loss ended the Prospects season. The Academy compiled a 15-12 record this spring (12-3 against high school competition).
