PROSPECTS COULDN'T HANG ON TO LATE INNING LEADS

Prospects Academy gave up late leads to Vauxhall to lose both games on the final out via the homerun.

Game 1 saw an offensive battle that went to extra innings only to see the Academy come up on the losing end by a score of 8-7. Zach Tibault got the offense started by driving in 3 runs on a first inning double. Mitchel Hazlett and Jake Lanferman each had 2 hits and a 2B a piece. Luke Muise was 1-3 with 2 RBI's, 2 Runs, and HR. On the mound Jackson Wark got the start going 3 innings giving up 4 earned runs with 4 BB and 3 K's. Taran Oulton came out of the pen tossing 1 2/3 innings surrendering one run. Darcy Affleck took the loss despite a a strong performance on the mound going 2 2/3 allowing 2 hits while striking out 3.

Game 2 saw a stellar pitching performance by Connor Burns wasted as the Prospects gave up a 5-1 lead in the bottom of the 7th. Connor went 6 2/3 giving up 2 earned runs on 6 hits and 3 K's. Jake Lanferman took the loss as the Prospects fell by a score of 6-5. Luke Muise continued to swing a hot bat as he went 3-3 and hit his 2nd HR in consecutive games. Darcy Affleck also had a 3 hit game with a 2B and 2 RBI's. Kobe Hyland went 2-3 with 2 SB's while Mecir and Lanferman added a hit each.

 

Prospects will be at Legion Ballpark on Tuesday, September 10th to take on the FX Academy at 6:00pm.
