The Prospects Academy's annual Jayhawk Showcase Trip was a success, despite some travel delays early on.  The team was stranded in Edgerton, Wyoming on their bus for 24 hours and subsequently had to cancel their games with the Colorado Rockies scout team in Denver.

The highlight of the trip for the academy was going 1-1-1 against powerhouse junior college Seward CC.  They played three five-inning games, losing the first 3-0, winning the second 7-6, and tying the third 3-3.  Jake Lanferman and Tanner Karpinski's pitching performances were the highlights of the day.  Lanferman tossed all five innings in game 1, while Karpinski threw 4 very strong innings, collecting 7 strike outs.

The following day The Academy took on former Prospect Triffon Tatarin and the Garden City CC Broncbusters.  Triffon fared better than the Prospects going 5-7 on the day.  The Prospects lost 12-1 and 6-3.

The final games of the trip were against the Hutchinson CC Blue Dragons, the college team of alumni pitcher Owen Renwick.  The Prospects played hard but fell by scores of 9-1 and 7-1 in the doubleheader.

The Prospects wrap up their fall schedule this weekend with a home series against Badlands Academy out of Oyen, AB.  First game is 12 pm on Saturday.
