Prospects Baseball Academy opened up their Georgia trip with a 2-1 record against the East Cobb Academies before heading into the North Atlanta Open held at the East Cobb Complex.
In their first game of the week the Prospects beat the East Cobb Rockies by a score of 10-2. Taran Oulton set the tone for the week picking up the win, tossing 6 innings, while giving up 2 runs on 5 hits with 5 K's and 4 BB's. On the offensive side of the ball the Academy was led by Tate Yuzda going 2-4 with 2B, 2 runs, and 3 RBIs. Hyland, Barrett, Lanferman, Thibault, and Van Snick all contributed with a hit a piece.
Game 2 saw the Prospects score 7 runs in the final inning to beat the tough East Cobb Bulldogs 7-5. Jake Lanferman got the win battling through 4 2/3 innings giving up 1 earned run on 3 hits with 2 BB's and 8 K's. Connor Burns got the offense started and the game winning hit all in the same inning with 2 doubles and 3 RBIs. Zach Thibault had a multi-hit game with Hyland, Loranger, Barret, Williams, and Yuzda all chipping in with hits.
In game 3 the Prospects came up short by a score 2-1 in a rain soaked game vs. the national powerhouse East Cobb Astros. Christian Smith tossed his best game of the year throwing 5 strong innings with 4 K's, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs. Offensively Kobe Hyland had the lone hit and Jake Lanferman stole home for the only run. Game was called due to rain in the 5th.
Game 4 vs. the East Cobb Yankees was cancelled due to rain.
Prospects open up the North Atlanta Open Showcase with games vs. the East Cobb Indians and Team Alabama.
