16/10/2014 10:14

The Prospects Academy returned from their 5th Annual College Showcase Tour to Colorado and Kansas. The Academy travelled through 5 states in 11 days as they showcased their talents to colleges and universities. The Prospects had stops in Northeastern CC in Colorado, Garden City CC, Hutchinson CC, Mcpherson University, and Ft. Hays St. Univeristy in Kansas. The players had the opportunity to compete against U.S. programs and experience first hand what college baseball life is like south of the border.  A number of players had interest from the many colleges that the Prospects played.

The Academy also had the chance to see how their plast players are doing. Current alumni that were seen on the trip were; Triffon Tatarin (SO-Garden City), Tanner Karpinski (FR-Garden City), Josh Williams (FR-Hutchinson), Kevin Czarnecki (SR-Ft. Hays St.), and Jake Lanferman (FR-Ft. Hays St.).

Coach Houston had this to say about the trip, "This year was another succesful year for the Showcase Tour. It gives these schools a chance to see our players first hand. It also allows are players to see what it is going to take play down there, and a better idea of what college life is all about. Every year we go down a couple players come away with college scholarship offers."

The Academy would like to thank Chris Finnegan and Eric Gilliland from Garden City, Trevor Varley from NJC, Steve Johnson from Ft.Hays St., Andrew Ehling from McPherson U, and Ryan Schmidt and Jamell Cervantez from Hutchinson as they did an amazing job helping us make the trip a great experience.
