PROSPECTS BASEBALL ACADEMY

THE ACADEMY

ALBERTA COLLEGIATE BASEBALL FOUNDATION

For the past eight years the Alberta Collegiate Baseball Foundation (“ACBF”) has endeavored to provide quality baseball and athletic development training in conjunction with some of the regions finest training facilities.

For those athletes who have participated in ACBF programs over the years, the results speak for themselves. The ACBF has placed 32 players into US and /or Canadian colleges with many receiving considerable scholarship funding. Two players are currently playing for MLB organizations at the semi-professional level.  In addition, and in keeping with the organizations belief that academics are as important - if not more important - than athletics, the ACBF has also provided 32 individual Academic Scholarships totaling $24,000.

The Foundation has always had a strong belief that with proper year-round training and competition, Canadian athletes would be drafted in higher numbers and higher rounds, and would be offered more financial assistance from colleges as they follow their athletic dreams and aspirations.

INTRODUCING A YEAR-ROUND TRAINING & LIFE-LONG LEARNING ACADEMY

The ACBF feels strongly about developing a program that will go above and beyond the idea of just getting players into college baseball programs. Once there, we want our athletes to excel and be key “go-to guys” displaying leadership, physical and mental toughness and a passionate hunger to get better and make those around them better in the process.

Through exposure to a prescribed and measured physical and mental training program, a demand for commitment from the coaching staff, and a requirement that all athletes participate in community-related projects and initiatives as part of the Academy’s team building and goal-oriented philosophy, the ACBF feels confident in guaranteeing that any and all athletes participating in the newly formed Prospects Baseball Academy will not only excel in their short term high school and college endeavors, but will gain long term and long lasting life skills and character attributes that will serve them well for the balance of their lives.

CHALLENGING COMPETITIVE SCHEDULE

A major contributor to the Academy’s success is a firm belief that players must test their training and progress by facing stiff competition on a consistent basis. Accordingly, the Prospects Academy Program will provide a comprehensive schedule that rivals any team in Western Canada, offering a 100+ game circuit that will run from September to August with the inclusion of Showcase Tournaments in Arizona, Kansas and British Colombia. [Details TBA]

In addition, the Academy will play a local schedule with tournaments and exhibition games within Western Canada. This will provide players the best opportunity to develop and gain the on-field experience required to excel at the next level.
